According to a friend of mine who leads a Greek dance group, the syrtaki isn't really done all that much in Greek communities. Just FYI. --Fang Aili 17:24, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Syrtaki Dance

[edit]

The Syrtaki Dance is what we call a Tourist Dance - done to impress the tourists - especially during the early 70's and 80's it is a mix of older dances such as the hasapiko...No the syrtaki is not danced by many in greece - international folk dance groups do!Hellenic Dancer 04:54, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
